My experience on JET consisted of two years from 2006 to 2008 in the little-known prefecture of Fukui in a small town called Maruoka. I taught at two schools: a Junior High of 400 students and a K ~ 12 school for students with physical disabilities. Those were two of my best years both professionally and personally, and they have left me with memories to last a lifetime.

I entered the JET Programme in 2002, where I stayed in the mountain town of Takayama, Gifu until 2004. I was an ALT at a junior high and a few elementary schools where I had the time of my life. I immediately joined RMJETAA upon my return. I was at first a member at large, then webmaster, then secretary, and now vice president. I am currently a computer programmer for a small GPS software company in Boulder but am studying at CU Boulder to become a high school math teacher. It is my pleasure to serve another term as vice president and am looking forward to another great year of fun activities and friendship.

Thank you RMJETAA for electing me as treasurer. I am delighted to accept the torch from my friend, coworker and former treasurer, Jessyca Wilcox, and am looking forward to serving our wonderful chapter financially for the upcoming fiscal year. I promise to carry out my duties as treasurer to the best of my ability and to maintain an open, honest, and fun relationship with all our members. よろしくお願い致します。

Colorado native and CSU alum, I was an ALT on the JET Program from 2007 to 2010 in Saitama-ken. My degree is in graphic design and I found my artistic background came in most handy when I taught animal names to elementary school kids, who marveled at my ability to draw a giraffe on the chalk board in roughly 15 seconds. My junior high school students weren't quite so impressed. I'm back in my hometown of Fort Collins and serving as the RMJETAA webmaster this year. I made many new friends on JET and am happy that I can continute to meet great people through RMJETAA and it's various events.

A Big Hello from Ft. Collins. Hajimemashite. Watashi no namae wa Shelby Sack. My husband, James, and I taught high school on the JET Programme in Nagano from 1996-1999. While there, we worked as drivers and interpreters for the USA Today staff during the Nagano Olympics, to this day one of the best gigs we have ever had! We loved Japan so much we went back and taught at elementary schools in Yamanashi from 2002-2004. While we are originally from Nebraska, we now call Fort Collins, Colorado our home. I currently work as an International Student and Scholar Advisor at Colorado State University. It is satisfying to have the chance to return the favor of my Japanese friends and help new international students adjust to life here. And now, I have volunteered to be the JETAA sub-chapter rep for Northern Colorado in the hopes of starting a few events in this part of the state and am looking forward to getting those events started!
